METAL GEAR SOLID 3: SNAKE EATER - SNAKE (CROP CAP VERSION)
MEDICOM TOYS REAL ACTION HEROES SIXTH SCALE ACTION FIGURE

My favorite video game series of all time. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater’s hero Naked Snake, later to be given the code name Big Boss. Quick run down of MGS3 for those that don’t know (shame on you)

Award-winning tactical espionage action video game directed by Hideo Kojima. Set in the Cold War-era Soviet Union, the story basically centres around FOX member Naked Snake as he attempts to rescue Russian rocket scientist Dr Nikolai Sokolov, Sabotage the completion of an experimental nuclear missile launcher, take down GRU leader Colonel Volgin & finally kill the legendary American soldier known as ‘The Boss’, Snakes old mentor who defected to the Soviet Union during the virtuous mission

This Medicom Toys 12” figure was released May 2005 & limited to only 500 pieces. It was only available at the Winter Wonder Festival

The figure has a nice paint job & the clothes sit well. The body is Medicom Toys Real Action Heroes body & features specifically developed muscle parts & over 32 points of articulation

Snakes come with a bunch of accessories all that can be seen in the game. Splitter camo face paint, eye patch, 1 right glove, 2 left gloves, jungle boots, Stabo harness, XM16E1 rifle, hand gun, CQC Knife, figure stand & of course the feature item of this figure the Crop Cap accessory. It’s actually an Alligator head but whatever.. Snake uses this item in the game to fool suspecting guards by equipping it while swimming through water, decoying himself as an alligator the clever sod

There aren’t many 1:6th scale Snake figures out there to buy. There are 3 other uniform variants released by Medicom. The tiger stripe camo, Squares camo with zombie camo face paint & cold war variant. InFlames/HeadPlay also released a 1:6 scale figure in August 2011 with loads of accessories. Hot Toys have recently announced they have the licence for MGS so expect to see some good things from them in the very near future

All that being said this is still a solid addition to any collection, usually go for around £150 - £200
